Assumption – Guarantee contracts in IBM Rhapsody

The specification of requirements is not as simple as it seems to be. In many cases it implies a trade-off communication paradigm, where sometimes the focus is set on what the delivering entity delivers (System requirements), and in other cases on what the receiving unit needs (Stakeholder needs and requirements).

However, both points of view are necessary and, in all cases, the possibility to assure that the requirements (all of them) are achievable becomes a must.

Today modern engineering offers the possibility to specify requirements based on defining contracts between the assumptions (A) made and which entities could guarantee (G) the fulfilment of the assumption. This short webinar, based on the results of the project EMBrACE, presents an approach to requirements specification through Assumption – Guarantee Contracts and it is based on the capture of assumptions and guarantees as requirements, allowing assurance of contract compliance and the underlying reasoning.

A demonstration with SES ENGINEERING Studio inside IBM Rhapsody will be presented.
