The 16th of September 2019, Capella Day was held in Munich, Germany. This is a one-day event organized by Thales and Obeo in order to bring together the community of Capella – an innovative Systems Engineering solution. This year The REUSE Company was invited to demonstrate the RAT for Capella plug-in. This plug-in helps you to write and manage requirements aligned with models in Capella, thus keeping high-quality requirements.
RAT – Authoring Tools provide Artificial Intelligence and Natural Language Processing and help you to write the perfect requirements. By downloading the libraries you are interested in, like the INCOSE Guide for Writing Requirements, the NASA Handbook or the ECSS rules followed by the Space industry, you get a real-time quality assessment following the rules defined in the chosen library. With RAT you can also define a set of patterns to get a consistent structure for all the requirements in the organisation.
Furthermore, RAT offers traceability and integration; the requirements and the models will always be integrated. When the elements are edited or renamed, there is a link to automatically update your requirements.
If you work with IBM DOORS, we have good news for you: there is a bidirectional connectivity between Capella and IBM DOORS. That means you can add or edit requirements in IBM DOORS seamlessly using the elements previously defined in a Capella model.
RAT also aggregates the requirements in a SMART Grid in Capella. This way you can sort, filter, do an advanced search or check the quality rate for each element.
And, of course, the RAT for Capella plug-in is integrated with the other tools in our Systems Engineering Suite. With RQA – Quality Studio you can tailor the quality rules and do a completeness and consistency analysis between requirements and models. KM – Knowledge Manager permits you to add additional content to your dictionary or tailor the patterns used by RAT.
The Capella Day was a very successful event for us. It was really interesting to network with the Capella community and, it was very nice to see that a lot of people were interested in our plug-in.
